The Biltmore area in Phoenix will bid farewell to a popular local sports bar, as it will permanently close its doors after this year’s Super Bowl on Sunday.

For 15 years, Half Moon Windy City Sports Grill has been a popular spot for fans of Chicago teams. Located at 2121 E. Highland Ave., this venue has also been a popular gathering place for sports fans.

In a press release on Monday, co-owner Clay Moizo stated that Game 7 of the 2016 World Series will always hold a special place in the hearts of Chicago sports fans. It was a memorable event for not only the Windy City staff, but also the surrounding community. The entire week of celebrations was filled with excitement and the team is thankful to have been a part of the neighborhood for 18 years.

For its last week, the bar is providing discounts on its menu prices, including on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Last Lunar Party will take place on Saturday, featuring live music and special drink offers such as $3 mystery shots.

The Half Moon Windy City establishment can be found in the Park One office complex, situated just below the Town and Country Shopping Center. Recently, the property owners have announced their intentions to transform the area into a tall residential building. Last year, Moizo and co-owner Don Talbot were informed that their lease would not be extended.

According to the statement, the owners expressed their gratitude towards the fans, vendors, and staff as their 18-year journey comes to an end, “The team values and appreciates the support from their community and acknowledges the crucial role played by their staff, who are like family to them. We anticipate the ongoing support of the community at our other establishments, and we trust that your visit with us was as enjoyable for you as it was for us.”
