Caffe Vita to Open in Former Easley’s Fun Shop Building

The former Easley’s Fun Shop building will officially have a new tenant.

Caffe Vita, a Seattle-based coffee chain is opening its first Arizona spot this weekend in the well-known downtown Phoenix site on McDowell Road between Fifth and Sevenths avenues.

Caffe Vita plans to celebrate its grand opening on Saturday by offering customers free oat milk lattes. There will be a variety prizes handed out and live music from a DJ. Caffe Vita will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.,

Caffe Vita will offer signature items such as caffe del sol espresso, single origin coffees and a special offering of oatdos – a cortado with oat milk – while honoring the former business that sold and rented costumes for 72 years until closing in 2018. The coffee shop roasts its beans on-site in a vintage Probat UG 22 and will offer seasonal options exclusive to the Phoenix location, including slushy drinks. Along with coffee, the shop will have pastries from La Grande Orange Bake Shop, Yo Donut and Suss Pastries.

Locals will appreciate that Caffe Vita preserves parts of the interior and outdoor aspects of Easley’s Fun Shop, including its signature yellow sign that says “our business is fun.”

There are two other businesses that inhabit the Phoenix legendary landmark. Local brewery Roses by the Stairs and men’s clothier Cave and Post will be neighbors to Caffe Vita.
