Woman Arrested in Connection to Apartment Fire

Cars burned, residents displaced from their homes, police say they have made an arrest in connection to a Phoenix apartment fire.

Last week, a fire broke out an apartment complex near 12th Street and Maryland Avenue. Phoenix police are reporting that 38-year-old Deja Clayton has been arrested after she allegedly started a fire in a storage unit at the apartment complex.

That fire ultimately spread to four apartment units and the nearby carport causing multiple cars to ignite in flames.

All residents made it out safely with no injuries reported.

Clayton was arrested and booked into jail. She faces one count of arson, one count of assault and two counts of transport violations.
