A scary incident unfolded in a clothing store robbery in Scottsdale that resulted with employees getting pepper-sprayed.

Targeted by thieves, the brazen attack was captured on surveillance video at Urban Exchange near Scottsdale Road and Bell.

The video shows a man and a woman walking down the middle of the store on Sunday. As the surveillance continues it clearly shows the male perpetrator grabbing bags and the woman thief pepper sprays the store’s owner and her employee.

The owner detailed the attack saying her whole face like it was on fire. With her eyes burning, not able to see anything and her mind racing, terrified, she raced out the back door to get help.

Authorities say that this is not the first time thieves have preyed on her store recently.

Scottsdale police report of shoplifting occurred at the same store last Monday and Wednesday. No arrests have been made.

The store owner estimates the thieves have stolen $25,000 worth of inventory in all three incidents.

After the robbery, the store owner has changed the way she does business. A sign is now posted on the door, informing customers the door will remain locked and they must call asking to enter the store.

Police encourage anyone who recognizes the purse-snatchers to call police.
