The Phoenix Festival of the Arts is back.

Organizers say the free three-day event will run Dec. 13-15 at downtown’s Margaret T. Hance Park. The gathering will include live music from local bands, artwork, vendors, food trucks and interactive arts for both adults and kids.

The festival, in its eighth year, will showcase more than 170 artists selling their creations.

Music and other live performances will be spread across three stages. The lineup will be announced soon.

Visitors will also be able to add their own touch of artistry by working on a piece for the Phoenix Mural Project.

Festival hours at the 32-acre park near Interstate 10 and Third Avenue were scheduled Friday from noon to 5 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Event staff is recruiting volunteers to help with set-up and tear-down, greeting attendees and watching over Family Fun Zone activities, among other duties.

Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is at least 18.
