Forbes recently released its first list titled “America’s Best Employers by State.” The American business magazine collaborated with market research company Statista to discover which organizations employees liked working for the most.

If you are wondering where the best place to work in Arizona is, here is a hint, it’s a members-only warehouse selling a huge variety of items including bulk groceries, electronics & more. In total, 72 companies around the state were ranked. The list included everything from financial institutions and defense contractors to healthcare companies and the city of Phoenix.

Costco Wholesale found itself at the top of the list of Arizona’s best places to work. The Issaquah, Washington based company has a reputation for really valuing both full and part time employees. According to its website, they also provide some of the most competitive benefits packages in the industry ranging from generous health care coverage to comfortable retirement options.

Rounding out the list of top ten employers in Arizona were: USAA, Mayo Clinic, FedEx, Southwest Airlines, Intel Corp., GoDaddy, Lockheed Martin, Boeing Co., and Southwest Gas. Web hosting company GoDaddy was the only locally-based company (Scottsdale) to crack the top ten.

Statista and Forbes reached these conclusions after surveying 50,000 employees working at large companies across the U.S. Workers rated their respective employers on a variety of factors including atmosphere, remuneration and working conditions. Grocery chain Trader Joe’s was rated as the best overall employer in the U.S., followed by Southwest Airline, Lilly and Costco.
