Four Scottsdale Police Officers Injured During Training When Gun Discharges Accidentally

Last week, a training drill in Scottsdale resulted in four officers from the Police Department being hospitalized due to an incident involving a gun.

The incident took place last Wednesday at approximately 11 a.m. at the Salt River Police firearm training facility.

According to the authorities, following a session of shooting practice, the officers were discharging their firearms in preparation for cleaning them, when one of the guns accidentally discharged. As a result, the bullet struck the ground and scattered fragments and debris in the direction of the officers.

Four individuals sustained minor injuries and were admitted to the hospital for treatment after visiting the gun range. The officers were discharged from the hospital on the same day after receiving medical attention.

The gun was accidentally fired by the officer, but they did not sustain any injuries.

On Tuesday, law enforcement officials verified that two of the officers have resumed full duty.
