‘Operation March Sadness’ Bust Ends With 42 Sex Trafficking Suspects Arrested

A joint operation focused on identifying and preventing sex trafficking-related crimes in the Valley successfully resulted in the arrest of 42 suspects.

In a two-day sex trafficking task force effort called “Operation March Sadness”  the Surprise Police Department, partnered with the Scottsdale Police Department, resulted in 39 suspects being arrested for prostitution. Three additional individuals were arrested for luring or trying to have sexual conduct with a minor.

Authorities report that one of the 42 arrested suspects is a registered sex offender.

The task force united detectives, officers, victim advocates and crime analysts united to focus on identifying, confronting, and reducing sex-trafficking crimes in the Valley.
