A body was discovered in a burning vehicle in a canal in west Phoenix, prompting an investigation by the Phoenix police.
Police responded to a call around 6:30 a.m. on Monday about a car on fire near the canal by 55th Avenue and Osborn Road.
Upon extinguishing the fire, Phoenix firefighters discovered a deceased individual inside.
A full investigation is underway. No additional details have been given and the identity of the victim remains unknown.
Authorities are urging anyone who has any relevant information to contact Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) to provide an anonymous tip. A reward will be given to anyone whose information leads to an arrest in this particular case.
