A family in the East Valley of San Tan Valley, AZ is grieving the loss of their young daughter after a tragic accident.

On Friday night, authorities from the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office were called to a residence located close to Combs Road and Painted Desert Driver after receiving reports of a child being struck by a car.

The child died shortly after arriving to the hospital due to injuries sustained by the accident.

According to reports, the victim has been identified as 4-year-old Mia Preston. Her family refers to her as their “beautiful miracle”.

In 2022, the Preston faced another heartbreaking incident that almost resulted in the loss of then 2-year-old daughter, Mia. While visiting relatives in San Diego, Mia’s father discovered her floating in a pool and immediately pulled her out and contacted emergency services.

Despite being submerged in water and receiving CPR for a duration of 20 minutes, Mia’s physicians were unable to detect any indications of lasting brain injury.

Mia was hospitalized for seven days in the ICU and then spent an additional three days in rehabilitation to achieve a full recovery. After only two months, she returned to her home and was able to resume her normal active life.

An investigation is currently undereay by PCSO into the crash that occurred on Friday. No additional information has been released by the authorities.

A GoFundMe account has been established in order to offer assistance to the Preston’s family for covering the costs of the funeral.
