Paradise Valley Town Council Approves Final Step For Redevelopment Of Smoke Tree Resort

The Town Council of Paradise Valley has approved a new appearance for a boutique hotel.

On January 11, Walton Global Holdings LLC, located in Scottsdale, was granted unanimous approval for a special-use permit to proceed with the redevelopment of the Smoke Tree Resort.

Walton is set to proceed “as quickly as feasible” with the dismantling of the 5-acre property located at the intersection of Scottsdale Road and Lincoln Drive’s southwest corner. The site will be reconstructed into an 82-room resort featuring a restaurant, cocktail bar, cafe, spa, and resort-style pool. The primary structure will house 77 hotel rooms, with the remaining five in single-story casitas. There are also plans for an underground parking garage.

The council meeting on Jan. 11 marked the end of a process that lasted over 18 months, which began when Walton Global purchased the property for $14 million in June of 2022.
