4 Teens Apprehended In Connection To Murder Of 17-Year-Old Boy in Phoenix

The Phoenix Police Department announced on Wednesday that four teenagers were apprehended in connection to the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy in south Phoenix that took place on November 28th.

The Phoenix Police Department is reporting that three suspects confessed to taking part in the robbery that led to the death of Marc Leyva.

At approximately 9 p.m., police were called to an incident of gun violence near Seventh and Southern avenues, where they discovered Leyva with multiple gunshot wounds.

The teen was taken to the hospital to, but unfortunately did not make it due to the severity of the wounds.

Officers discovered numerous discharged bullet shells found at the scene of the shooting.

During the investigation, law enforcement officers were lead to three potential suspects in the murder: Dareon Harris, 18, Leonard Brown, 19, Takari Humphrey, 18, and an underage male, name not given.

Harris and the juvenile were apprehended on the 14th of December, and Brown was apprehended a few days later on the 18th. Humphrey was found and apprehended this Wednesday.

Sgt. Phil Krynsky released a statement to the press, revealing that each of the four suspects had confessed to taking part in a planned robbery that resulted in the fatality of Leyva. He indicated the charges for the crime involved first-degree murder, attempted robbery, and aggravated assault.
