Phoenix Woman Dead In Hit-and-Run

A Phoenix woman is dead after being involved in a hit-and-run as she tried to cross the street.

Police were called to an area close to 31st and Campbell avenues at approximately 5:45 a.m., Wednesday morning according the Phoenix Police Department.

Chery Lowe, aged 60, was found to have sustained serious wounds. Emergency personnel arrived and declared Lowe deceased at the scene.

Law enforcement investigators reported that Lowe was in the process of crossing the street in the middle of the block when she was struck by a car that then drove away.
