62nd Annual Phoenix Greek Festival To Take Place This Weekend

Opa! The Upper Middle will be where it is at this weekend as the Greece is the Original Phoenix Greek Festival is set to run this weekend.

The three day event is a popular valley tradition and will kick off this Friday at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral with enjoy an opportunity to enjoy the flavors of Greece, live entertainment and shopping.

The family-friendly event’s schedule is as follows:

Friday
5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Saturday
11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Sunday
11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If you plan to attend, come hungry! Food booths will offer up Greek delicatessen including spanakopita, moussaka, lamb shank, dolmades and a wide range of desserts.

Those 21+ can enjoy a tasting of a variety of Greek wine, liquor and beer.

But food isn’t the only draw to the event. The festival will feature live music, dance performances and dance lessons. Attendees can also shop from multiple vendors selling jewelry, art, ceramics, and more including rides for kids.

The church’s cathedral is offering self-guided tours as well.

Located just west of State Route 51 between Bethany Home Road and Glendale Avenue.

Parking
Parking is available at the church for $10. Bring cash for parking.

The festival is offering free parking at the Charles Schwab office parking lot on the southwest corner of 24th Street and Lincoln Drive. A free shuttle service will transport you to the event and will start 30 minutes before the festival opens each day. Shuttle buses will run every 15 minutes to and from the event.

$5 Admission per day
No charge for kids under 12
Seniors over 60 can get in for free on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
