Northern Arizona Registers 3.8 Magnitude Earthquake
Sunday afternoon, a 3.8 magnitude earthquake was reported in northern Arizona.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck around 2 p.m. near Chino Valley which is located approximately 15 miles north of Prescott. The quake was reportedly five kilometers deep.
Residents reported feeling tremors and shakes in Prescott, Prescott Valley and Chino Valley.
There has been no report of any damage as a result of the earthquake.
While not common, according to the Arizona Geological Survey, Arizona has hundreds of unfelt and several felt earthquakes (3+ magnitude) that occur in the state each year.
