Phoenix Fire Hiring Firefighter Recruits, Written Test Set for August 22nd

The Phoenix Fire Department is excited to announce an upcoming Firefighter Recruit Written Test. This rare opportunity will take place Tuesday, August 22nd at 9:00 AM.
The application period opened on July 5th. Applications close August 3rd at midnight. A candidate must be 18 years of age to take the test. Admission into the test requires some form of picture identification.
The test will take place at the Phoenix Convention Center located at N 3rd St. Phoenix, AZ 85004.

Fire Recruit salary is $24.34 hourly/$50,627 annually. Upon successful completion of the academy, the Firefighter salary range can range from $51,854 – $76,626 annually. In addition, there are pension and healthcare benefits that will take care of you and your family for a lifetime.
Once the application process is complete, applicants will be provided a link to the 2023 PFD Written Test Study Guide.
In preparation for the written test, those interested are encouraged to attend the upcoming Recruitment Information Sessions. The sessions are hosted every first Wednesday of the month from 6:00PM to 8:30PM. Online sessions will be held on June 7th, August 2nd, September 6th, November 1st, and December 6th.
The next in-person Recruitment Information Session will take place on Wednesday, October 4th.
The session will take place in Classroom 1 at the Phoenix Fire Regional Training Academy at 2425 W. Lower Buckeye Road, Phoenix. It will include a PowerPoint Presentation and tour of the academy grounds. For those interested in attending, please come prepared by bringing water and wear clothing and shoes appropriate for being outside.
