Scottsdale Police released a report that a security guard in the Scottsdale Quarter mall area was stabbed multiple times during a physical altercation with man early Monday  morning.

Around 12:40 a.m., officers were called to assist a security guard who reportedly called for help after a fight with a male.

A police department operator was able pull up live footage of the fight occurring on the traffic cameras on the corner of Scottsdale Road and Butherus Drive. The operator instructed responding officers to situation and the location.

Upon their arrival to the scene, they found the security guard with multiple stab wounds, restraining a man on the ground who also had a stab wound to his back.

Officers took the suspect into custody 38-year-old Marco Antonio Aguilera. Both the suspect and the security guard were both taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Later Aguilera was released from the hospital and booked into the Scottsdale City Jail on various felony and misdemeanor charges including aggravated assault, drug possession, disorderly conduct and four outstanding warrants outside of Scottsdale.

Police also arrested a 44-year-old man at the scene and charged him with one count of drug possession. Details on the cause of the fight and reason for the stabbing have not yet been released. This investigation is still underway.
