Want to get away with a friend? Southwest Airlines is offering a two-day promotional special that will allow you to bring a companion for free.
Frequent Southwest flyers must register for this promotion from Sept. 7 through Sept. 9, and purchase a round trip or two one-way flights during those dates to get a free companion pass in 2022.
The companion pass allows you to bring a guest from the same airport for just the price of taxes ($5.60 each way).
To register for this promotion you will need to provide your Southwest Rapid Rewards account number when you book your tickets. If you don’t have a Rapid Rewards account number yet you can sign up online at Southwest.com/rapidrewards.
How to Receive your Promotional Companion Pass:
- Register at southwest.com and purchase a round trip ticket or two one-way flights before Sept. 9 at 11:59 p.m.
- Travel or use your purchased round trip ticket or two one-way flights by Nov. 18.
- After booking and traveling on a qualifying flight during the specified promotion dates, Southwest will send you an email that will allow you to designate your ticket to your desired travel companion. You can go to My Account on southwest.com or call Southwest at 1-800-435-9792. To change your companion, call 1-800-435-9792
- Once you have received the promotional companion pass, you and your travel companion will be able to use the pass between Jan. 6 to Feb. 28, 2022.
