Massive Fire Destroys Central Phoenix Salon

Early Thursday morning, just after 2 a.m., the Phoenix Fire Department was called to a hair salon near 7th Street and Missouri Avenue for a massive fire. When crews arrived on the scene, there were 20-foot flames burning through the roof of the two-story building.

The fire crew were met with massive flames that engulfed the building, as part of the building collapsed.

Capt. Scott Douglas with the Phoenix Fire Department says more than 50 firefighters responded to the second-alarm fire that rocked central Phoenix.  Thankfully, no firefighters were injured.

The fire damaged the building just north of the salon, an occupational and physical therapy clinic called Head To Toe Therapy.

Fire investigators will work to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
