The Maricopa County Recorder’s Office in Phoenix has announced that they are inviting individuals of all ages to participate in a voting sticker design competition for a chance to win. The agency currently open to receiving submissions for redesigned versions of the traditional “I Voted” sticker until March 15.

Two sticker design competitions will be held, one for children and one for adults. Individuals under the age of 18 must be currently enrolled in a school in Maricopa County or a homeschool program that is equivalent.

The announcement requested participants under the age of 17 to come up with a sticker design that showcases their appreciation for their community.

The Maricopa County Recorder’s Office has announced that any adult who is registered to vote in Maricopa County is eligible to submit their designs for voting stickers. The office has specified that the stickers should showcase the reasons behind an individual’s decision to vote.

The deadline for applications is March 15 at 5 p.m. Every candidate is required to complete a release form for artists. Failure to submit this form will result in disqualification for any aspiring designers.

According to Maricopa County officials, designers are recommended to utilize a circle with a diameter of 7 inches. The sticker will be created by reducing the original design to 25% of its size. To inspire creativity, officials have provided a template, which can be accessed at this link.

The office strictly prohibits any designs or words that may be deemed offensive.

On March 25, the top 10 finalists will be announced by the county recorder’s office after narrowing down the submissions.

On April 7, the community will have the opportunity to cast their votes for their preferred choices. Afterward, the Maricopa County authorities will reveal the selected winners for each competition on April 8.

Maricopa County will include both of the winning designs in their collection of six new stickers for the 2024 elections.

In August’s primary and November’s general elections, voters will have the opportunity to select the two successful sticker designs.

As a prize for winning the kids’ sticker design competition, the winner will be treated to a pizza party for one of their classes. Along with enjoying a pizza party, the winner can also distribute their winning sticker to their peers.
