Members of the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Task Force for the District of Arizona arrested a homicide fugitive following a vehicle stop April 6.
Geway Braman, 45, was wanted on a warrant out of Polk County on one count of first-degree reckless homicide and one count of neglecting a child (consequence is death), as the result of the December 2017 death of a 7-month-old baby who died of blunt head trauma.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Department originally requested assistance from the U.S. Marshal’s Service in locating and arresting Braman in the Minneapolis area. The warrant was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (GLRFTF) – Madison on March 31.
Working with the Polk County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Marshals for the District of Minnesota, the GLRFTF-Madison developed new information that Braman was possibly at his sister’s residence in Phoenix.
Members of the USMS Fugitive Task Force in Arizona established surveillance on the residence April 6, and when Braman and his sister were observed returning to the residence Braman was taken into custody without incident.
The U.S. Marshals Service is the nation’s first federal law enforcement agency and is the federal government’s primary agency for fugitive investigations.
