The best place to vacation in the United States is the Grand Canyon, according a report U.S. News & World Report\u2019s annual Best Vacations rankings.<\/p>\n
At the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, there are numerous activities for visitors to enjoy. They can hike, raft down the Colorado River, and visit the Grand Canyon Skywalk.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s also an affordable getaway,\u201d said Erin Shields, the managing editor of travel at U.S. News. \u201cIt costs just $35 for one vehicle and all its passengers to enter, plus campgrounds can be booked for as low as $18 a night.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNumerous travelers are interested in spending their hard-earned vacation days outdoors,\u201d said Shields. \u201cThese vacations tend to be more affordable than some of the top city tourist destinations, making them accessible.\u201d<\/p>\n
Not only did Telluride come in at No. 10 on the list, it also ranked as the best small town to visit on US News & World Report\u2019s Best Small Towns to Visit in the USA for 2019.<\/p>\n
There are \u201cabundant outdoor activities year-round, from skiing to hiking and biking to scenic drives,\u201d says Shields.<\/p>\n
When creating the report, U.S. News & World Report looked at over 700 vacation destinations. They combined the opinions of travelers with editor and expert analysis. Each location is scored in 10 categories, \u201cfrom sights, culture and food\u201d to \u201cvalue, adventure and nightlife.<\/p>\n
