Nearly two years after closing due to COVID-19 pandemic, a Phoenix nightclub that has had a long history in Phoenix is reopening Friday with a new name and a new look.<\/p>\n
Char\u2019s Has the Blues, the venue located on Seventh Avenue south of Camelback Road will open with the new name of \u00a0Chars LIVE<\/a>.<\/p>\n Char\u2019s Has the Blues opened their doors in the 1980s and was known for featuring live blues and jazz. \u00a0Chars LIVE will feature a 2,245-square-foot venue and will expand their musical offerings with reggae, ska, DJs and more.<\/p>\n The entire interior has been renovated and plans are in the process to add an outdoor patio with space for food trucks in the coming months.<\/p>\n \u201cPreserving Chars\u2019 history has been our number one priority since starting this reopening,\u201d general manager Tom Georges said in a press release. \u201cWe want friends of the club to feel like they\u2019re coming home when see how much care we put into refreshing the venue.\u201d<\/p>\n Chars Live reopening weekend lineup will feature: <\/p>\n \u201cChars is an institution in the Melrose District and across Phoenix,\u201d co-owner David Cameron said in the release. \u201cWe\u2019ve upgraded the space, but we\u2019re excited to keep and honor the happy, open vibe that everyone came to know and love.\u201d<\/p>\n
