Arizona is officially on the MICHELIN map. The 2026 MICHELIN Guide Southwest has been unveiled, marking the first time the prestigious restaurant guide has evaluated restaurants in Arizona. The inaugural guide includes 19 Arizona restaurants, with seven earning Bib Gourmand honors and 12 receiving MICHELIN Recommended status.
Phoenix dominates Arizona’s first MICHELIN Guide showing. Of the 19 Arizona restaurants recognized, 13 are located in Phoenix, including some of the city’s most celebrated restaurants and several neighborhood favorites.
While Arizona did not receive its first MICHELIN Star this year, the arrival of the guide represents a significant milestone for the state’s growing culinary scene.
7 Arizona Restaurants Earn MICHELIN Bib Gourmand Honors

Phoenix Chefs and Restaurants Receive Additional MICHELIN Awards
Arizona’s showing in the first MICHELIN Guide Southwest extended beyond restaurant designations.
René Andrade, chef behind Phoenix restaurants Bacanora and Huarachis Taqueria, received the MICHELIN Young Chef Award.
Charleen Badman of Scottsdale’s FnB received the MICHELIN Guide Mindful Voices Award, while John Germain of RESERVE in Scottsdale received the Sommelier Award.
The individual honors further establish metro Phoenix as the center of Arizona’s emerging MICHELIN-recognized dining scene.
Did Any Arizona Restaurant Receive a MICHELIN Star?
Not yet.
No Arizona restaurant received a MICHELIN Star in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Southwest.
But that’s only part of the story.
MICHELIN inspectors have now evaluated Arizona restaurants and established the state as part of the guide’s Southwest territory. Nineteen restaurants made the inaugural Arizona selection, creating a foundation that MICHELIN can revisit in future editions.
For a Phoenix restaurant scene that has spent years building a national reputation, simply having MICHELIN inspectors regularly evaluating restaurants in the market represents a major change.
And it creates an obvious question heading into the next guide:
Which Phoenix restaurant will become the first in Arizona to earn a MICHELIN Star?
According to the official MICHELIN Guide Southwest announcement, the inaugural Southwest selection covers Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah.
