For the first time in its 40-year history, Someburros is making a big change to one of its most iconic menu items. Beginning June 1, the Arizona-based restaurant is introducing Mini Burros, a limited-time offering that brings the brand’s signature Sonoran-style flavors to a smaller, snackable format.
Available through August 31, the new Mini Burros offer a fresh way to enjoy a longtime favorite. Whether you are looking for a lighter meal, an afternoon snack, or a chance to try multiple flavors in one visit, these bite-sized versions deliver the same made-from-scratch quality that has made Someburros a local staple since 1986.
A New Take on a Classic
Someburros has built its reputation on authentic Sonoran-style recipes passed down through generations of the Vasquez family. While the menu has evolved over the years, the restaurant has remained committed to fresh ingredients, family traditions, and recipes that reflect its Arizona roots.
The new Mini Burros continue that tradition while adapting to the way people eat today. Smaller portions make it easy to mix and match flavors, share with friends, or grab something quick between summer activities.
According to Someburros Owner and President Tim Vasquez, the new menu item was created with flexibility in mind while staying true to the restaurant’s heritage.
Five Flavors to Mix and Match
Guests can choose from five Mini Burro varieties, each priced at $4.95 through August 31:
- Shredded Chicken, Rice and Cheese
- Ground Beef, Beans and Sour Cream
- Bean and Cheese
- Green Chili Beef
- Egg, Cheese and Potato
The variety makes it easy to build your own combination. Pair a savory Green Chili Beef Mini Burro with a classic Bean and Cheese, or opt for the breakfast-inspired Egg, Cheese and Potato option.
Perfect for Summer
The timing feels intentional. Summer often calls for lighter meals, quick bites, and food that travels well. Mini Burros fit naturally into that routine.
They work as a poolside snack, a quick lunch, an appetizer, or an easy meal on the go. They also offer a fun way to sample multiple Someburros favorites without committing to a full-sized burro.
An Arizona Favorite Continues to Evolve
Since opening its first location in Tempe in 1986, Someburros has expanded to 18 locations across Arizona while maintaining its family-owned roots. The restaurant continues to be known for its welcoming atmosphere, made-from-scratch recipes, and commitment to authentic Sonoran-style Mexican food.
Now, with the introduction of Mini Burros, Someburros is giving longtime fans and first-time visitors another reason to stop by this summer.
The limited-time Mini Burros will be available at all 18 family-owned Someburros locations throughout Arizona, including the Uptown Phoenix location, from June 1 through August 31.
