Ballet Arizona brings The Nutcracker back to Symphony Hall this December with live music by The Phoenix Symphony. The production runs December 12–27, 2025, and continues to be one of Phoenix’s most popular holiday traditions. The company has sold out three seasons in a row, and early demand shows the same trend this year. Shows on December 12–14 are nearly sold out, and several performances have limited seats remaining. Low-ticket dates include December 14 at 5:30 p.m., December 19 at 7:30 p.m., December 20 at 2 p.m., and December 21 at 1 p.m. Audiences will find the best seat selection from December 18–27.
World-Class Music and Timeless Choreography
Artistic Director Ib Andersen choreographs this year’s production, pairing his precise, elegant movement with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s iconic score. The Phoenix Symphony performs the music live, creating a rich and immersive experience. The story follows Clara through her battle with the Mouse King and into the sparkling Kingdom of Sweets. The show runs about two hours, including intermission, and remains a favorite for first-time guests and long-time fans alike.
Ballet Arizona also offers a Capture the Magic VIP Package. This add-on includes early lobby entry, a Sugar Plum Fairy photo, hot chocolate vouchers, a Ballet Arizona tote bag, a $20 gift card, autographed pointe shoes, and 20% off at The Nutcracker Boutique. Guests who purchase at least a week in advance also receive a parking pass.
This season, Ballet Arizona introduces a Sensory-Adapted Nutcracker Performance on Wednesday, December 17 at 1 p.m. This Act II-only performance features softened recorded music, gentle lighting, quiet spaces, and fidget-device access.
