The Phoenix Symphony announced a $1 million donation from Dr. Oliver and Sharon Harper. The gift establishes the Oliver & Sharon Harper Family Legacy for Music Excellence. This investment highlights the couple’s lifelong dedication to the arts and supports the Symphony’s continued growth as one of Arizona’s leading cultural institutions.
Decades of Leadership and Civic Commitment
Longtime Phoenix residents, the Harpers have spent decades strengthening the city’s civic and arts communities. Additionally, Dr. Oliver Harper, a family physician specializing in geriatric medicine, previously served on the faculty at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.
Sharon Harper, Chairman and CEO of Plaza Companies, leads one of Arizona’s top real estate development firms. Her work has shaped the state’s medical, bioscience, hospitality, and senior living landscapes.
Their leadership extends deeply into the arts. Ollie Harper is Chairman Emeritus of The Phoenix Symphony and continues to serve on its Board of Directors. Together, the Harpers are Honorary Co-Chairs of CRESCENDO: The Campaign for The Phoenix Symphony. This $60 million campaign advances artistic excellence, expands education and outreach, and strengthens the Symphony’s long-term future.
