Run to Fight Children’s Cancer: 10K Run, 5K Run/Walk, and Cancer Hero Walk

Join the Fight: 15th Annual Run to Fight Children’s Cancer

The 15th Annual Run to Fight Children’s Cancer returns on Saturday, May 3, 2025, uniting families, runners, and community supporters in the fight against pediatric cancer. This inspiring charity race benefits the Children’s Cancer Network (CCN)—a nonprofit dedicated to assisting Arizona families navigating a childhood cancer diagnosis.

Whether you’re a competitive runner, casual walker, or simply want to show your support, this event offers a meaningful way to take action and bring hope to local children and their families.

What Is the Run to Fight Children’s Cancer?

The Run to Fight Children’s Cancer is one of the largest family-friendly races in Arizona focused exclusively on childhood cancer awareness. Now in its 15th year, the event includes multiple race options for participants of all ages and fitness levels:

  • 10K Run – Starts at 7:00 AM
  • 5K Run/Walk – Starts at 7:45 AM
  • Cancer Hero Walk – Starts at 9:00 AM

The Cancer Hero Walk honors young cancer warriors, survivors, and their families. Spectators are encouraged to cheer along the course, creating an unforgettable moment of love, strength, and support.

Post-Race Family Festival

After crossing the finish line, participants and supporters are invited to enjoy a free family festival at Riverview Park. The celebration features:

  • Live entertainment and music
  • Food trucks with local eats
  • A dedicated kids’ zone
  • Arts, crafts, and games
  • Interactive vendor booths

It’s more than a run—it’s a community rallying together to fight childhood cancer.

Meet Kennedy – 2025 Race Starter

Each year, the event selects a Race Starter to symbolize hope and strength in the fight against pediatric cancer. In 2025, that honor goes to Kennedy, a brave 9-year-old diagnosed with Stage 3 Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma in 2023.

After undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, Kennedy is now in remission and back to doing what she loves—gymnastics and cheerleading. Her courage is a powerful reminder of why this race matters.
