Happy National Wildlife Day! On this September 4th, it’s a perfect time to connect with nature, learn new skills, and support conservation efforts. What better way to celebrate than by joining the Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) program, proudly sponsored by the Arizona Wildlife Federation?
BOW offers hands-on workshops tailored for women aged 18 and older, catering to all fitness levels with no prior experience required. The program fosters an inclusive and supportive environment where women can learn, grow, and forge lifelong friendships. Whether you’re looking to master plant identification, gun safety, fly fishing, or even Dutch-oven cooking, BOW’s diverse courses ensure there’s something for everyone.
From September 6-8, 2024, the next BOW weekend will be held at Friendly Pines Camp in Prescott. This immersive experience promises a variety of activities, including map and compass reading, rappelling, geocaching, and marksmanship with both rifle and bow. It’s not just about learning outdoor skills—BOW is about empowering women to embrace nature confidently and responsibly.
By participating in BOW, you’re not only gaining valuable outdoor knowledge, but you’re also supporting wildlife conservation in Arizona. As we celebrate National Wildlife Day, let’s recognize the importance of programs like BOW in inspiring a new generation of wildlife advocates. Moreover, National Wildlife Day is more than just a celebration; it’s a call to action. Arizona’s wildlife faces challenges from habitat loss, climate change, and urban sprawl. By supporting conservation efforts, respecting natural habitats, and spreading awareness, we can all play a part in protecting these amazing animals for generations to come.
