In a significant breakthrough, the Glendale Police Department has announced the arrest of several juveniles involved in a spree of vehicle and home burglaries that have plagued the community over the past few weeks. The five suspects, a 14-year-old girl, two 15-year-old boys, a 15-year-old girl, and a 16-year-old girl, were allegedly using stolen garage door openers to gain access to homes while residents were asleep, leading to a total of at least 46 cases.
The arrests are the result of coordinated efforts across multiple units within the Glendale Police Department, including the Foothills and Gateway Investigations teams, SWAT, K-9, Forensics, MROP, Narcotics, the Community Action Team, Gun Crimes NIBIN Group, RTCC, patrol drones, and the Fugitive Apprehension unit. The Glendale Police also extended their thanks to the Phoenix Police Department’s Black Mountain Precinct NET Squad for their critical role in the investigation.
Recovered items from the suspects include two stolen vehicles and several firearms, marking a significant blow to the criminal operations that have been targeting the area. According to the Glendale Police, the suspects have made admissions that have directly led to their arrests.
“We are committed to keeping our community safe and will continue to work tirelessly to bring those responsible for criminal activity in our neighborhoods to justice,” the Glendale Police Department stated in a recent Facebook post. “Your safety doesn’t sleep and neither does our commitment.”
The arrests have brought relief to the Glendale community, which has been on edge following the string of break-ins. Residents have expressed gratitude for the diligent work of the police in bringing the culprits to justice and restoring a sense of security to their neighborhoods.
