The Phoenix Union High School District is inviting community members to an important town hall meeting Thursday night in which they will address the fentanyl crisis in our state.

Thursday’s meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the Phoenix Union High School District Office at 4502 N. Central Avenue in Phoenix

The goal of the meeting is to inform parents on the dangers of fentanyl and provide awareness that a possible fatal overdose can occur to the many who have the mindset of, “it won’t happen to my child.”

PXU has recently moved forward with taking a defensive step in this crisis that is sweeping the country. The district has provided extensive training and has stocked Narcan with school nurses, campus administrators, athletic trainers, and other school personnel.

All members of the community are invited to attend Thursday’s meeting. Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, Arizona State Senator Christine Marsh and health experts will be in attendance.

For those not able to attend, the event will also be live-streamed. Questions can be submitted prior to the meeting by clicking here.
