Important Shipping Deadlines Holiday Shoppers Need To Know

It is that time of year again! We either started our holiday shopping on Black Friday taking advantages of the sales or will spend Cyber Monday searching online for the best prices. Something to keep in mind as you complete your holiday shopping list, if you need to send packages to family across the country, be sure to know your shipping deadlines so they arrive in time!

Experts are reminding consumers to tackle their shopping early this year. The longer you wait, the higher the shipping prices will be.  Not only will there be staffing shortages across the country which will slow the shipping process down, but there is higher demand for services.

Experts recommend paying attention to the holiday deadlines if you want your gifts to arrive on time.

FedEx Ground Deadlines
December 14 is last day to ship.

If you send after this date, you will be required to select a much more expensive option such as FedEx Express Saver or FedEx Same Day.

US Postal Service Deadlines
December 17 for Ground service.
December 19 for Priority Mail.

UPS Deadlines
December 20 is the deadline using its 3-day Select service.

If using UPS Ground, the deadline will vary by location, so be sure to ask your local UPS store for their best recommendations.

One last tip is that consumers can always send gifts directly from a store’s website, saving the hassle of adding the additional shipping process. Most stores during this time are offering free shipping, so this can offer a nice savings.
