It’s Halloween, which means it’s time to get out that costume for the spooky season! Whether you have kids or not, you should still let yourself enjoy the holiday. There’s so much more to do than just trick or treating.

Almost every city hosts their own bar crawl, so that’s something to look into. However, if that’s not your scene there’s plenty of other things to do. If you’re stuck planning, check these out!

Sportstoberfest:

When: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Oct. 22

Where: Eldorado Park, Scottsdale
Cost: Prices vary

This is what they call “the best excuse for beer and sports.” Your ticket fee is dependent on which sport you and your team sign up for. At this year’s tournament there will be a 6v6 Soccer Tourney, Sloshball Tourney, Cornhole Tourney, D1 Beach Volleyball, D1 and D2 Grass Volleyball.

All players will receive a free lunch, there will be DJs playing from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., and New Belgium Brewing Company and Clancy’s Pub Team will have the drinks. If you want to continue the party, there will be an official after party at Clancy’s Pub!

Monster Mash & Dash:
When: 6 – 8 p.m. Oct. 22
Where: 17570 N 75th Ave, Suite 605, Glendale
Cost: $14

This event really caught my attention because of how unique it is. This is “Phoenix’s Official Halloween Scavenger Hunt and Costume Party.” During the event you’ll be racing the clock to gather the most raffle tickets to raise your chances in their boffo raffle.

So, how do you get raffle tickets? By collecting items on your scavenger hunt! You’ll have one hour to solve the clues you’ve given, run to the location of the answer, and snap a photo in front of the landmark with your group. Each correct answer means one raffle ticket. The overall winning team will get a prize pack, and all other teams will get their chance in the raffle.

You can also get a prize for having the best costume! Proceeds from the event will go towards providing shoes to AZ kids in Title 1 Schools.

Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival:

When: Oct. 28 and 29
Where: The Salt River Fields at Talking Stick Resort, Scottsdale
Cost: Child GA $17, Adult GA $22

Perfect for families, this festival brings lively entertainment for all ages. Costume contests will go on throughout both days for both kids and adults. A variety of prizes will be up for grabs. From around the country, over 20 hot air balloons will be gathered, showcasing their vibrant colors, and handing out candy. Serving as trick-or-treat stations, together the balloons will have over 4,000 pounds of candy to be handed out!

Rainbow Ryders Hot Air Balloon Ride Co. will be offering rides for $25 per adult, and $15 per kid. The free kids zone will have over 30 slides and attractions offering everything from inflatable bounce houses to slides, and even an obstacle course.

Apache Junction Parks and Recreation Halloween Festival:

When: 4 – 8 p.m. Oct. 29
Where: Superstition Shadows Park, Apache Junction
Cost: Free Entry, tickets for booths/activities available for purchase

There will be tons of activities taking place throughout this event. Lost Dutchman Realty is sponsoring their Trunk of Treat. The road will be closed off as local businesses line the street with their cars to hand out candy. There will be games, activity booths, inflatable activities, and crafts to do. This year the Treat Trail, brought to you by the Youth Advisory Council, will be making its debut.

And, don’t forget to get all dressed up for the Costume Contest! First, prizes will be given out to the best costumes in different age groups, and then the Howl-o-ween Canine Costume Contest will begin. Complete an entry form to enter your pup in this adorable contest.

To compete in the Pumpkin Carving Contest, bring your pre-carved pumpkin out to the park to be judged by kids and adults.

International Halloween Bash:

When: 8 p.m. Oct. 29 – 12 a.m. Oct. 30
Where: ACC Banquet Facility, Scottsdale
Cost: $45

Niche Boom is bringing DJ M3 and Selin Esko in Violin to the International Halloween Bash for a night of non-stop dancing. Show off all your moves on the dance floor as the hottest international songs boom through the speakers. Two complimentary drinks come with your general admission ticket.

Nightmare on Central Halloween Party:

When: 8 p.m. Oct. 29 – 2 a.m. Oct. 30
Where: FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel, Phoenix
Cost: Tickets start at $25 (VIP Bottle Service and Room Packages are available)

When you walk through the doors of FOUND:RE Phoenix you’ll immediately be transported into a “Nightmare on Central.” This event is for anyone who is looking for a scare this Halloween season.

You’re in store for what they call the “fright of your life.” Monsters, slashes, and the villains from all your favorite horror movies will be lurking around every corner just waiting for that perfect opportunity to catch you off guard. Be ready for an adrenaline rush!

Get dressed up for the occasion, and keep your eyes out for a spooky surprise around every corner. DJs will set the mood by playing some scary sounds throughout the night.

Wicked Ball:

When: 9 p.m. Oct. 29 – 2 a.m. Oct. 30
Where: The Salt River Grand Ballroom at Talking Stick Resort, Scottsdale
Cost: GA $60, VIP $100

Get excited for the “biggest and most over-the-top Halloween bash in the Valley.” You’re going to need to bring your game and dress to impress because $10,000 is on the line. During their costume contest the best overall winner will take home $5,000, and $1,000 will be given out to the scariest, funniest, best makeup, best couple, and best group.

Sander Van Doorn, Regard, and Imanbek will be taking the stage for entertainment.

Halloween Paw-Ty:

When: 5 – 7 p.m. Oct. 30

Where: 2201 W Wescott Dr, Phoenix
Cost: Free

This year will be the very first doggy Halloween Paw-Ty and Paw-Rade. Dress up your furry friend for Halloween and let them get their moment of fame as they show off their adorable costume. Your pup will get called up to display their outfit and do a trick for a treat. Once the event is over you’ll walk away with your little star, and a goodie bag.
