Monday morning commuters are met with a bit more of a traffic challenge this morning.

A heavily traveled portion of Interstate 10 in Phoenix has been narrowed Monday morning due to bridge inspections following Sunday night’s heavy storm.

The Arizona Department of Transportation report that westbound I-10 has been narrowed to two lanes between US 60 and 48th Street. The westbound US 60 to WB I-10 HOV lane is also closed.

ADOT crews are inspecting the new 48th Street bridge after winds and rain moved through the Valley Sunday evening.

ADOT is uncertain how long the inspection process will take and have not provided an estimated time for the freeway to fully reopen. Drivers in the area should expect delays in the area.
