Community Alert – Impersonation of a Police Officer

In recent days, The Paradise Valley Police Department has been made aware of a subject calling random Arizona residents and purporting to be Sgt. Derek Hoelscher.

This subject is asking people to call them back at phone number 480-934-0534 and is most likely asking for personal identifying information or financial compensation. This is not a phone number to anyone at the police department and has been identified as a fraudulent scheme. The police department will never request financial compensation for any warrants or fines.

If you are unsure that you are speaking with a legit officer within our department, feel free to contact the Paradise Valley Police Department at 480-948-7410 and verify the information. If you have fallen victim to this scheme, please contact your local police department to make a report.
