Your Cellphone Bill Is Increasing, Here’s How Much Companies Are Raising Prices

We have seen a major increase in rise of gas prices, cost of food, and rent. Consumers can now expect to see an increase in their cellphone bills as companies battle the cost of inflation.

For the first time in two years, Verizon customers can expect to see an increase in their monthly wireless phone bills. Verizon recently notified customers and larger corporate clients of the pending rate hike.

Verizon customers will see a $1.35 increase in administrative charges for each voice line beginning in June. Business customers can expect to see an “economic adjustment charge” beginning on June 16, in addition to mobile phone data plans rising by $2.20 a month and basic service plans going up by 98 cents.

AT&T raised their service prices earlier this month by $6 on single lines and $12 for families.

Wireless carriers cite the current state of the economy for the price increases. “We’re all feeling the pressure and we’ve been in the process of deciding how much of that pressure we can share with our clients,” Tami Erwin, head of Verizon Business, recently told Bloomberg.
