As part of the city’s Kool Kids Pool program, kids can swim for free at several of their city pools this summer. Kids age 17 and under can swim for free at Coronado, Starlight, Encanto, Sunnyslope, Deer Valley, Maryvale, El Prado, Harmon, Perry, Roosevelt and Hermoso. Adult entry fee is for $3. Seniors age 60 and over entry is just $1.

Due to a significant decline in lifeguard staffing across the city, the number of pools opening for the summer is only half of the 29 locations.

For families looking to participate in swim lessons. The City of Phoenix also offers swim lessons for children age six months to 12 years old. Registration begins at noon on May 12 and lessons are broken up into four sessions. Lessons begin in early June and are available until late July.
