Man Killed After Driving Through Security Checkpoint at Luke Air Force Base

A man was killed at Luke Air Force Base after failing to follow proper base entry protocols.

According to base officials on Friday afternoon, at approximately 3:40 p.m., 30-year-old Jacob Kilby, attempted to enter the base through the South Gate security checkpoint.

Luke AFB officials say members of the 56 Security Forces Squadron deployed an “automated vehicle barrier” to stop the moving vehicle.

First responders who arrived after the collision pronounced him dead at the scene.

Base officials confirm that Kilby was not a member of the military.

The cause of the incident is currently under investigation by the Glendale Police Department.
