A 19 year old Arizona State University student has died after being found unresponsive in the Arizona State Sun Devil Fitness Center Saturday night.

ASU Police Department Officials were called to the fitness center located on Arizona State University’s Tempe campus around 7:20 p.m. for a report of an injured person.

When officers arrived they found Bryan Andrew, 19, unresponsive in the pool area. Police took over efforts from someone at the scene who had started CPR. Tempe Fire and Medical Rescue department attempted medical treatment on scene as well. Andrew was declared dead at the scene.

An investigation is still underway to determine what led up to the incident, but officials are certain that foul play is not suspected. Officials believe Andrew was swimming laps at the recreation center.

The medical examiner will work to determine what led to the student’s death.
