Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley Receives Grant to Support STEM Education from PhRMA

Grant to support after-school programming for students in the Phoenix Metro Area.                                                                                                                                                          

The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and their STEM Talent Pipeline program today announced an educational grant of $5,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley to support the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs offered at their various clubs throughout the Phoenix metro area.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Valley includes 27 branches across 9 Valley cities, serving more than 13,000 active Club members.  PhRMA is proud to partner with them to bring vital funding to their members as they participate in various after-school STEM-related programs, including their popular LEGO robotics program that focuses on engineering.

“Boys & Girls Clubs offer a great place for students to explore their interests in STEM in hands on activities. Our Clubs offer age-appropriate STEM programming to youth and teens where they can learn programming, robotics, and computers that can lead them into meaningful career pathways. This grant from Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America will help us continue to build a strong, diverse workforce for the future,” said Marcia Mintz, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley.
