Woman, Boyfriend Arrested For Sex Trafficking a 13-Year-Old Teen

A 39-year-old woman and her 28-year-old boyfriend were arrested in connection to a Casa Grande child sex trafficking operation, saying she was trafficking her 13-year-old daughter.

The Casa Grande Police Department said on Tuesday that Brooke Santiago, was arrested on suspicion of child sex trafficking, sexual exploitation of a minor and prostitution. Three days later, Derrick Newman, was arrested on suspicion of child sex trafficking, sexual conduct with a minor and pandering.

The department said officers found significant evidence that Santiago was actively involved in sex trafficking and was facilitating the trafficking of her daughter.

The department details the investigation, “On September 9th, 2021, Casa Grande Police responded to Siegel Select Extended Stay in reference to a domestic disturbance. Officers contacted Brooke Santiago … During the investigation, Officers discovered significant evidence that Santiago was actively involved in sex trafficking …”

Santiago was arrested at the hotel on suspicion of child sex trafficking, sexual exploitation of a minor and prostitution. Newman is allegedly to be connected to the trafficking of the same teen.

Detectives collected items of physical and digital evidence that include interviews of the alleged suspects and victim. The charges will be submitted to the Pinal County Attorney’s Office.

The 13-year-old girl is in the custody of the Arizona Department of Child Safety.

The investigation is ongoing.
