Excessive Heat Warning in Arizona

Arizona residents get ready for the hottest days of 2021. It is heating up!

Arizona will be under an excessive heat warning and temperatures are expected to skyrocket this weekend.

They valley can expect our first days at 110 degrees as early as Saturday with hotter temperatures climbing through next week in Phoenix. On average, our first day at 110º or hotter happens around June 11th.

An official excessive heat warning will take effect Saturday across the Valley and last through next Friday.

There will is also an excessive heat warning for areas below 4,000 feet in the Grand Canyon starting on Saturday.

Those in Prescott and Sedona and western Arizona will also be under heat on Sunday and Monday.

Heat is the number one weather-related killer. Last year, we lost more than 300 people to heat-related deaths in the Valley.

It is important to be proactive by staying hydrated and avoiding outdoor activities during the hottest time of the day. Sunburn, dehydration, and heat-related illnesses can impact the human body in only a matter of minutes!
