Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego has launched the Mayor’s Birthday Book Club for kids with the help of book company, Scholastic.
During the first year of the program, 500 books will be sent to kids ages Pre-K through 3rd grade on their birthday.
Each book will come with a special birthday message from the mayor herself.
“The success of our youngest residents is crucial to our city’s future and I hope this program is the start of a larger impact for our community,” said Gallego.
