Arizona is the least safe state during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a study analyzing data from several official sources.

States were ranked in order of safety based on rates of vaccinations, positive tests, hospitalizations, deaths, and transmissions.

Arizona took the overall safety ranking of 51 — the last spot of all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Arizona also took the 51st spot for the highest positive testing rate and highest hospitalization rate. Arizona also had the second-highest death rate, just above Alabama, and third-highest transmission rate, just above Washington and Hawaii.

The safest states based on the data are said to be Alaska, Vermont, Colorado, and Montana.

The study utilized data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, The COVID Tracking Project, and rt.live, according to WalletHub.
