No Weekend Closures Along Phoenix Area Freeways

No full freeway closures are scheduled along Phoenix area freeways this weekend (Dec. 4-7) for construction or maintenance work, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Drivers should remain alert to restrictions in existing work zones along Valley freeways. Be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through work zones, some of which require lane restrictions. Avoid distractions, including texting while driving. Never drive impaired. Arrange for a designated driver or ride service if necessary.

No matter the destination, bring a mask and follow guidelines during the current public health situation.

ADOT plans and constructs new freeways, additional lanes and other improvements in the Phoenix area as part of the Regional Transportation Plan for the Maricopa County region. Projects are funded in part by Proposition 400, a dedicated sales tax approved by Maricopa County voters in 2004.
