A traveling exhibition featuring full-sized replicas of Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel ceiling paintings is coming to downtown Phoenix.

Visitors can marvel at 34 panels of the reproduced Italian Renaissance masterpieces in their near-original size from Nov. 20 to Feb. 14 at the Croft Downtown, located near First and Buchanan streets.

Among these reproductions are revered pieces such as “The Creation of Adam” and “The Last Judgment.”

“Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition” will be open daily, except for Tuesdays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online.

“We are overjoyed at the opportunity to host this unique experience for the region,” Angela Karp, co-owner of The Croft Downtown, said in a press release. “Health and safety remain the highest priority, so our exhibition will be equally as safe as it is spectacular.”

Guests will be required to wear masks at all times. The amount of visitors in the exhibit at one time will be limited for social distancing purposes.

“People all over the world have been amazed to see Michelangelo’s work up close in such detail, and we’re glad the people of this state and region will have that opportunity as well,” said Martin Biallas, CEO of Los Angeles-based SEE Global Entertainment, producer of the Sistine Chapel exhibit.

The exhibition has previously appeared in New York City, Shanghai, Berlin and Vienna.

A small theater featuring educational videos about Michelangelo and the Sistine Chapel will also be part of the immersive art exhibit.
