Last week, a minor was arrested by Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents after retrieving multiple packages of methamphetamine dropped from a drone.

The drone crossed the Mexico border near San Luis and agents saw a young man in the same area.

The agents made contact with the suspect, a 17-year-old United States citizen suspect. A border patrol dog alerted to something in the car.

After a search of the vehicle, nine packages of meth were found. The drugs weighed more than 12 pounds each and have an estimated value of $26,0000.

Agents arrested the teen for drug possession, and the drugs and vehicle were seized.

Last month, agents also intercepted two drones carrying narcotics over the border in separate incidents. Those seizures accounted for an estimated $303,000 worth of narcotics.

Border Patrol officials urge anyone to anonymously report suspicious activity by calling 1-877-872-7435.
