Children’s Museum of Phoenix Offering Summer Camp In A Box
Summer is quickly approaching and that has parents scrambling for fun activities to keep children busy during this uncertain time.
During this crazy pandemic, The Children’s Museum of Phoenix is letting parents bring the fun of summer camp home to their kids.
Camp in a Box is designed for children ages 4-10 and will be offered in both June and July.
“Our Camp in a Box virtual camps will give kids super engaging, fun play experiences at home — it’s going to be like having a little slice of the Children’s Museum come to you,” Children’s Museum CEO Kate Wells said in a press release.
Each box will include an instruction guide, art materials, schedule, project supplies, and even access to virtual content for each week’s theme.
Camp in a Box themes include:
The World of Magic and Fantasy
Going, Going, Green
The virtual component available will include five days of pre-recorded content with camp counsellors leading different activities like movement, STEM activities, story time, creative projects and more.
Campers will also have the opportunity to join in on live content with staff and special guests each week.
Boxes can be picked up curbside at the museum or delivered for a $25 fee. Each box is $129 for non-members and $99 for members.
The museum also announced they are planning to run onsite camps in July if the museum is able to open. Their reopening date has not yet been announced.
