Foundation For Senior Living Committed To Helping Seniors During COVID-19

Last week Governor Ducey declared a state of emergency for Arizona amidst the spreading coronavirus. From Spring Training to school closures, we have seen our community take important measures to limit the spread of coronavirus. In addition to sports teams and entertainment venues, across the Valley nonprofits have also had to cancel or postpone their events, many of which they rely on to fund their services throughout the year. Foundation for Senior Living (FSL) has been one of those nonprofits–choosing to postpone one of their largest annual fundraising events over health and safety concerns.

While all of us are concerned about the impact of the COVID-19 virus, we know that it is more dangerous to older adults and those with immune deficiencies. FSL continues its commitment to serve the most vulnerable and seniors with compromised immune systems during this uncertain time with COVID-19. But as the situation continues to change daily, expenses are increasing significantly.

“At this time, flexible and unrestricted donations would be the most helpful,” said Tom Egan, president and CEO, FSL. “We know our food delivery programs to seniors are going to increase.  We also know essential health care services are going to be in demand.  We need the community’s help so we can continue to serve those who need it most.”

Donations to FSL will go to:

  • Fund food supplies and transportation costs to ensure home-bound seniors have the meals they need
  • Deploy emergency staffing to ensure medically necessary services are delivered uninterrupted
