7 Arizona Pier 1 Stores To Close
Pier 1 Imports has become the latest big-box retailer to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, and court documents show that the company intends to close six stores in the Phoenix region and one in Tucson.
The Fort Worth, Texas-based home décor and accessories retailer filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 17 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
In court documents, the company listed seven Arizona properties it will close in the next four to six weeks. It is in the process of closing up to 450 North American store locations, including all of its stores in Canada.
The following stores will close on Feb. 29:
Happy Valley Towne Center – 2501 W. Happy Valley Pkwy., Phoenix
Village Fair North shopping center near Paradise Valley Mall – 12657 N. Tatum Blvd., Phoenix
The following stores will close on March 31:
Chandler Fiesta shopping center – 2600 W. Chandler Blvd., Chandler
Lake Pleasant Towne Center – 10092 W. Happy Valley Road, Peoria
Camelback Colonnade – 1743 E. Camelback Road, Phoenix
Ahwatukee Foothills Towne Center – 4717 E. Ray Road, Phoenix
5919 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson
